My name is Veronica Mechan, I was born in 1949 and grew up around the historic area of Berwick-Upon-Tweed. After moving to Edinburgh, My daughter Susan was born in 1975 with Down syndrome.



I have devoted my time to caring for my daughter Susan, also learning all I could about Down Syndrome, in resent years as many aspects of the caring industry as I could. Achieving my certificate for teaching basic skills in 1997.

Hi I am Susan Bradley and I was born in 1975, I have Down syndrome and used to live in my flat in Edinburgh with the help of support workers, after I came on holiday I liked it that much I decided to stay !!



I love my mum very much and love spending time with her, I like Don a lot too. I miss my family and friends in Edinburgh. Mum and Don always helps me to keep busy and I enjoy helping with jobs that need done. My favourite things to do are:

My name is Don Mechan, I was born in 1949 and I have travelled extensively seeing many countries at an early age. I met Veronica in 1996. At that time I owned and managed a care home for adults with learning difficulties.



Like Veronica I also achieved my certificate for teaching basic skills in 1997. Before moving to France Veronica and I worked for West Lothian Council as foster carers plus for three years.
